As a Gilbert plumber, I wanted to apologize. I realized this morning that I don’t post any information on appliance recalls, particularly washers, dryers, water softeners, water heaters, and the like…
As a plumber that you depend upon for services and information, that is going to change.
You need to be aware of what is in your home, what you’re purchasing, and what might be a danger to your family.
Recalls are Need To Know, and here’s your first recall announcement from your Gilbert plumbers:
GE is offering a free repair to customers who own certain GE Profile high-efficiency top-loading washing machines.
The company has recalled model numbers WPGT9350, WPGT9360 and WPGT9150 after receiving 71 reports of internal washer components burning or catching fire. Three of the reports resulted in $129,000 in property damage.
“An electrical component in the washers can overheat, posing a fire hazard,” the company said on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website.
Here’s what you need to do…
Right now, walk over to your washing machine and answer these questions:
Is it top loading?
Is it GE?
Find the model number on your washer. Look inside the washing machine, under the lid, near the right hinge.
Is your model number WPGT9350, WPGT9360 or WPGT9150?
If so, stop using it immediately and do the following…
Call 877-830-9732 from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit www.geappliances.com and click “Recall Information” at the bottom of the page for information.
